About JPAS

Who we are

JPAS is a student-led music community dedicated to J-Pop, anisong (anime songs), Japanese rock, Japanese bands, and contemporary Japanese live music culture.

However, we are not simply an anime club, music appreciation club, or fan community.

JPAS is also a music organization that enables students to form bands, rehearse, collaborate, perform, and organize concerts.

We want JPAS to become a lasting platform for Japanese music at Ohio State.

Our mission

Our mission is to promote the appreciation, understanding, and performance of Japanese popular music and anisong through public music education, intercultural exchange, and accessible live music experiences.

We connect people through music, create opportunities for student musicians, and introduce contemporary Japanese live music culture to broader audiences.

What we do

Our vision

JPAS should outlive its founders.

We want future generations of Ohio State students to inherit an established music community with organized student bands, performance opportunities, equipment resources, and a recognizable identity.

Ultimately, we hope to build a sustainable ecosystem of musicians, audiences, organizers, volunteers, and supporters.
